Summary of the final regulatory action:

It has prohibited to production, use and place on the market all plant protection products containing Clordimeform according to annual adopted list of active ingredients banned for use in plant protection products under the lant Protection Act since 2003. Clordimeform is designated as a PIC chemical. (Annex I of the Regulation on the import and export of certain dangerous chemicals on the Bulgarian territory). The chemical can be imported in quantities not more than 10 kg solely for the purpose of research or analysis.

Summary of known hazards and risks to human health:

Routes of exposure: The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.
Inhalation risk: A harmful contamination of the air will not or will only very slowly be reached on evaporation of this substance at 20C; on spraying or dispersing, however, much faster.
Effects of short-term exposure: The substance may cause effects on the nervous system and blood, resulting in impaired functions and formation of methaemoglobin. The substance may cause effects on the bladder and kidneys, resulting in bladder irritation and blood in the urine. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.
Effects of long-term or repeated exposure: Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis.
